There is one enormous sinkhole in Arctic Yakutia where ten years ago the ground simply collapsed. It is 1.5km long, 800 metres wide and over 100 metres deep at its deepest point. Every year it gets a bit deeper. Unlike the more famous Yamal Peninsula sinkholes, this one has yet to be "discovered" by the media. Inside it, the remains of mammoths, bison and ancient horses can be found.
